Have a Merry Christ -mas

Retailers are hoping for a profitable holiday shopping season.  Unfornately, gift giving, receiving, and the use of the Merry Christmas greeting often takes away the true meaning of Christmas.  The celebration of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ should always be at the forefront and the true 'reason for the season'. Take a moment this holiday to reflect on the blessings and the miracles that Jesus brought to your life this year.  Celebrate God's ultimate gift to the world, 'For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.' (John 3:16).

Fellowship with loved ones and give gifts that are needed to make someone's life a little more bearable.  Volunteer your time and give to those that are having difficulties with food, shelter, clothing, or just in need of kindness and compassion.  "Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor. The Lord protects them and keeps them alive.  He gives them prosperity and rescues them from their enemies.  The Lord nurses their pain and discomfort". (Psalm 41).
